This is the mission behind every product created by Design the Space. The first test we demand of all of our products is: Would you proudly use our product in your home? If the answer is yes, then everything in the manufacturing process and everything in the customer experience is scrutinized and continuously improved with the aim to:

Although the quest is never ending, consumers have rewarded our efforts and today Design the Space is an online leader in over 90% of our product categories. We are also proud that our products are found in affordable shelter in developing countries where our products are not the cheapest but they are the most durable and viewed as providing the best value.

As important as sales leadership is, another goal that is central to all that we do is leadership in environmental responsibility. Over 99% of the raw material content of all of our products and packaging comes from renewable resources and 100% of the virgin content is harvested from sustainable yield practices. Wherever possible, we use recycled materials for raw materials and/or packaging. The recycled content for some of our products exceeds 75%.

Design the Space's factories are among the most energy efficient in the world, employing solar and wind power to minimize energy consumption. Every flow in the manufacturing process is designed to minimize energy use. The only carbon dioxide emissions ever released at an Design the Space factory come from ultra low emission propane fork lifts and their use is minimized through automation and intelligent material flow.
Virtually all of our packaging materials and byproducts are collected and recycled and/or converted into saleable products. The result is we create an extremely small amount of waste.

Another way we eliminate waste is by making products that are built to last. We manufacture products of timeless design using the best materials and exhibiting the finest craftsmanship. Many of our products are classics that never go out of style. We do not chase fashions or produce at a quality level that is destined for a landfill. Our products immediately enhance the value of a home and provide lasting value from one generation to the next.
