Stone Fireplace Mantels

You have recently purchased and installed a beautiful stone fireplace mantel from Design the Space.  Now, the holidays are upon us, and you want a fresh new idea for how to decorate your new mantel.  Here are some ideas to ensure that your new purchase is the focal point of your room, and brings beauty and holiday cheer.

Go with your classic red and green theme.  Fresh pomegranates pop against a fragrant evergreen garland and a row of mini conifers. Sprigs of red crystals tucked into the evergreens repeat the color of the pomegranates on a smaller scale and add some sparkle.

Outfit your mantel with a variety of objects that feature a common denominator. Natural elements in classic red and green create a cohesive look. Choose unassuming green pine boughs and red tulips and calla lilies. A grapevine star adds a textural backdrop to your mantel display.

Create a Christmas garden.  Poinsettia bracts in shades of red and pink stand proudly in mismatched glasses standing in as vases. Different shades of pink soften the look of your stone fireplace mantel.

Are you trying to create a balancing act for all your beautiful Christmas pieces? Arrange them in a symmetrical pattern for an organized look. Allow each side of your mantel to mirror the other. For example, add a hurricane and bottle-brush tree ensemble, along with two stockings to each side.
